What’s been happening:

After a full and rewarding career in the newspaper business (back when newspapers were healthy), I moved to the corporate world, then to consulting, and now do a great deal and writing and editing on a pro bono basis for non-profits. It is a pleasure to be happy doing for others and not worrying about my own career.
